(noun) a cylindrical roll of finely cut tobacco wrapped in thin white paper with fire on one end and a fool on another!
Hi! My name is Jim McBeath. I am sure I’ve got your attention now and I intend to keep it on this page long enough to make my point. I know why you are here and I am going to tell you how to quit smoking easily and effectively, but in a while. First, I am going to discuss a few very important things with you.
The whole world and its wife know the ill effects of smoking, and yet we persist in our addiction like mindless fools. Excuse my strong language but sometimes, I can’t help feel infuriatingly upset at our own foolhardiness where we gleefully pave our way to the grave with cigarette butts.
Today smoking isn’t just a petty little personal problem that affects just you and me. It’s crossed the borders of the little town or city we live in and spread through the world, assuming the proportions of a ghastly epidemic. If you think I am nuts, take a look at these statistics.
- One-third of the global male adult population smokes
- 10 million cigarettes are sold every minute
- Diseases caused by smoking result in four million deaths annually. It is estimated that by 2030, if there is no intervention, smoking will be the cause of death for one out of six people.
- Someone dies of tobacco abuse every 8 seconds
- When you look at global statistics for young teens in the age group of 13 to 15 years, 20% of them are heavy smokers
- About 80,000 to 100,000 children worldwide pick up this addiction every day
- 50% of the adolescents who begin smoking go on smoking for about 15 to 20 years.

According to the Arizona Department of Health Services Tobacco Education and Prevention Program ad campaign, tobaccos is “Tumor causing, teeth staining, smelly, puking habit.” Does that sound familiar to you?
Still think that a cigarette makes you look cool? It’s your best buddy on this planet? Well, maybe you need to get to know your best friend a little better. Here are some hard core facts that will make you sit up and take notice:
- Every cigarette you puff on so proudly can reduce your life by at least five minutes.
- There are more than 4,000 chemicals in cigarette of which hundreds are poisonous and carcinogenic in nature.
- Nicotine, an essential component in every cigarette, can reach the brain within 10 seconds of inhaling cigarette smoke. It is found in each and every part of the body; including the breast milk you feed your baby.
- Carbon monoxide produced during smoking has the potential to bind to hemoglobin in your red blood cells (RBCs), which prevents them from efficiently transporting oxygen through the body.
- There is enough nicotine in 5 cigarettes to kill an average adult, if it is ingested whole. Thankfully, since most of the nicotine is burned off, most smokers inhale only 1-2 milligrams of nicotine. So, we will die, only slower.
- Did you know that one of the possible additives used in cigarettes is ambergris, also known as whale vomit? Interested in quitting smoking yet?
By far, smoking is the single largest cause of disease and premature death; and the saddest part of it is that it is classified as a “preventable cause.” Get it? Preventable! Which means, any time you choose, you could prevent your body from falling to ruin. Anytime beginning now!
I want to know How to Quit Smoking
You know I am not quite done yet. If active smoking wasn’t a bad enough way to die, passive smoking turns out to be a silent, yet dangerous, killer. It can affect the health and life of people who may never even have looked at a pack of cigarettes, let alone thought of smoking one. Can you beat that? A person could die for no reason other than he happened to be around a moderate or heavy smoker at home, public places or workplaces.
While you may not care about a random stranger sitting next to you at a restaurant, I am sure you will show concern for your near and dear ones, especially your kids. Children are often the casualties of the irresponsible lifestyle of their parents. Even tiny amounts of secondhand smoke can be dangerous for children, and research has shown that children who end up becoming unwilling passive smokers have an increased risk of cancer, asthma and respiratory infections.
If you did not already know, there are two kinds of smoke – mainstream and sidestream smoke. Mainstream smoke is defined as “the smoke that enters the smoker’s body and is not exhaled.” As you can guess, mainstream passive smoking occurs when a non smoker breaths in smoke exhaled by a smoker. Dangerous as that is, sidestream passive smoking is a lot more harmful.
Sidestream passive smoking is when a non-smoker “breaths in smoke from the burning end of the smoker’s cigarette.” In a public space, most of the smoke is usually sidestream smoke, and it has a higher concentration of chemicals than mainstream smoke.
Here’s some more trivia I will leave you to chew on:
- Secondhand smoke (both mainstream as well as sidestream kind) is known to have more than 50 carcinogenic compounds, 11 of which belong to Group 1 carcinogens. What that means is secondhand smoke is very, very dangerous.
- Among the compounds present in cigarette smoke are radioactive lead and polonium. Although their levels are pretty low, that fact in itself should scare the hell out of you!
- One of the byproducts in cigarette smoke is hydrogen cyanide, a compound that was put to use as a genocidal chemical agent during World War II. I don’t know about you, but I sure as hell am freaked out now!
Knowing all this, how can you continue smoking that too around your family? If you do not have the will power to quit smoking, at least have the decency to refrain from smoking around people you care for.
For those of you who have finally seen the light and come to senses, learn how to stop smoking here.

The public health authorities never mention the main reason many Americans have for smoking heavily, which is that smoking is a fairly sure, fairly honorable form of suicide. ~Kurt Vonnegut
That’s it! That explains it all. Smokers are basically suicidal in nature. Why else would they choose to ignore all the evidence in front of them and continue puffing away at their “death sticks?”
If, on the other hand, you belong to that group of people that wishes to live a healthier, addiction free life, I will tell you how to quit smoking.
When you decide to quit, you ought to know that smoking doesn’t let you go without putting up one hell of a fight. The withdrawal symptoms are pretty radical including extreme irritability, insomnia, headaches, chest infections, coughing, dry mouth, tongues or lips, sore throat, extreme tiredness, nausea, poor concentration, and increase in appetite.
Look, I am not out to scare you here but you need to be prepared for what you are going to go through. Now, while there are various methods that can help you quit smoking, the best one among them is a product by the name of Smoke Deter. Check out the website here:
Smoke Deter is a product that has been considered heaven sent by people who had tried every means possible to give up smoking but couldn’t cope with the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal. However, the 100% natural ingredients used in this product fight these symptoms and make the transition period a lot easier for you. And the good news about withdrawal symptoms is that they get weaker and weaker over time until you barely feel the urge to reach for your pack of cigarettes.
Smoke Deter has touched the lives of millions of people all over the world. Although homeopathy isn’t yet a mainstream science, those who’ve used this product swear by it. It’s pretty simple to use, too. All you have to do is spray the liquid in your mouth three times a day, supplement it with the course of herbal pills, and let Smoke Deter do its job.
I will leave you with this final thought. Some anonymous wisecrack once said “One thousand Americans stop smoking every day – by dying.” Funny, but also tragic! Wouldn’t you want to try the easier way out of this addiction?
